Getting There!

Well, I finally found some time to write so a rough draft of the new version has been completed.

I've been talking with someone who I've been very interested since I began making films. His name is Colin Levy and reminds me a great deal of myself. I think I've got him onboard to create a little title sequence for the film. He's the man though, check out his website... http://www.peerlessproductions.com

My next step is to arrange for a composer, as for this movie to really go over well, it needs a very orchestral classical sorta score. I have a few people who I've been eyeing, but I'm waiting until things are a bit more final to get them onboard.

At the moment, I'm trying to figure out exactly what to shoot it on. For sure the entire film will be shot using HVX's in 24p, but I don't know whether or not this film lends itself to the 35mm adapter look. After some tests I'll make a final decision whether or not this will be an HVX/M2 adapter film or not. If so, I'm going to try and get a DP who I've been talking to for a while, he's been shooting films with the M2 for a while so it'll make things run much smoother on set.

I'm trying to keep an eye out for looks for the film. Maybe I'll post some pictures sooner or later of what I'm going to try and go for. That's all I've got for now, I can tell you though, expect a movie poster like this in the future.

Oh My Goodness

Began rewriting the script last night. I cut 3 whole pages, which was something like 6 of the 13 scenes. A lot of new scenes will be added in, in their place, and oh gosh. So much stuff to be done. Things are coming together though and I'm finding time to write, so I'm hoping I can get the script done in the next month or so.

I've also talked to one of my good friends Anna DiGiovanni, (Did I spell that right? Not quite sure.) I haven't decided what role she is going to play yet, but she'll be involved somehow...

Soon I'm going to have to start confirming locations. I'm thinking of just shooting in Piedmont High School because of the ease of it all and because I'm sure they would have no problem with it, but I'd really love to shoot it at Head Royce. I checked out a few pictures from the oakland film commissions website of their school, and it looks really nice. We'll have to see about that though.
